语言是人类沟通的桥梁。在当今国际形势下，讲一口流利的英语显得尤为重要。

译：Language is the bridge of communication. Speaking  English fluently is becoming more important than ever in today's international situation.

近日，为了帮助我校学生克服恐惧和害怕讲英语的心理，并进一步提高学生口语表达能力。我校初中部八年级特为学生搭建了展示、学习、交流的平台，举行了英语口语朗读比赛。

译：Recently, in order to help students overcome the feeling of fear speaking English, and further improve students' oral expression ability. Our school held an Oral English reading contest.

赛前，同学们做好了充分的准备，以饱满的精神，有条不紊地进行练习。赛时，他们紧张有序、聚精会神展示出自己的英语实力。
